Meet The Crew: Texas Lone Stars Angling Club

Get the inside scoop on the clubs of SFC's new era

With the official launch of the 14 new professional angling clubs competing in SFCs new format, get to know the names, logos and faces behind the new era of competitive offshore fishing. Introducing Texas Lone Stars Angling Club.

Behind the Lone Stars name
Representing Central Texas and the South Texas coast, Texas Lone Stars Angling Club’s 5-pointed star imagery pays homage to the iconic “Lone Star State” moniker, and from the first official Texas Ranger Unit, formed in 1835 as part of the colony’s fight for independence from Mexico. The star logo is created by combining two heading arrows found on a fishing boat’s GPS units.

Behind The Angling Club Logo & Colors
The club takes its red, white and blue colors from the Texas State flag, first created in 1839. For Texas, the red represents bravery, the white symbolizes purity, and the blue represents loyalty.

The Squad (Coming Soon)
The Lone Stars have a roster secured, but that news deserves its own announcement, coming at the conclusion of our Angling Club reveals. Free agency signing periods have nicknames like “silly season” in Formula One, “the hot stove” in Major League Baseball and “rostermania” in eSports for a reason. SFC’s first-ever free agency period was set in motion by the March 11 landmark agreement between the league and its angling club. What we have learned so far is that sport fishing free agency needs a nickname of its own.
