Louisiana Canyons Angling Club

Honoring the multiple undersea canyons that make the gulf such a plentiful and diverse ecosystem, the Louisiana Canyons Angling Club also features notable iconography of Louisiana. The fleur-de-lis is symbolic of Louisiana’s origins as a French colony. A flag with the fleur-de-lis was first planted at the mouth of the Mississippi River in 1682 by French explorer Sieur de la Salle. The green, gold and purple colors have double meaning; all three colors are the colors of mardi gras, symbolizing faith, power, and justice respectively. The green also represents green canyon, one of the more famous gulf canyons found due south of Louisiana.
