8:13AM - First fish release on the board goes to North Carolina Flare! With 525 points, the Flare now sit in fourth and will need to release another fish before the New Jersey Sea Birds to earn the tiebreak advantage.
8:45AM - New Jersey Sea Birds are on the climb! They release a sailfish and are looking to chase down Lights Out New England.
8:52AM - South Carolina Outcast look to pull away with it! Their lead extends to 3 fish, surpassing the 1,000 point mark.
9:12AM - East Coast Remix look to mount yet another comeback. World Series Champion Doug Mientkiewicz releases a sailfish for the angling club's first of the day.
9:19AM - The New Jersey Sea Birds may be onto something... We're hearing rumors of major action in their area.
9:24AM - SEA BIRDS HOOK A QUAD! New Jersey end up converting three of the four sailfish for a 225 point swing and are now even on points with second place South Florida Sails.
Captain Blaine Birch may have made the call of the tournament if the New Jersey Sea Birds are the only ones in that area.
9:26AM - Lights Out New England release a single sailfish, but will need to rally to keep pace with the Sea Birds.
9:45AM - New York Granders are on the board! Dusty Adinolfe releases a sailfish. If they went back to their Thursday spot...curious to confirm which way they went this morning, because it could mean a huge momentum swing for them.
10:24AM - Remix with their second release of the day, Jorge Corzo gets his first of the Ft. Lauderdale Billfish Open.
10:41AM - Lights Out New England release another sailfish. They currently sit in fourth place, extending their lead from fifth place East Coast Remix.
10:55AM - FISH. TAN. LAUNDRY. New Jersey Sea Birds release their fifth sailfish of the day and are now in sole possession of second place! Their morning move continues to pay off.
12:11PM - South Carolina Outcast extend their lead! A clutch release to keep distance from a hot Sea Birds charge.
12:19PM - But the New Jersey Sea Birds will not go away! A DOUBLE for the crew from exit 98 have possibly made the move of the tournament this morning.
12:23PM - Doug Mientkiewicz gets his second release of the day and the third overall for East Coast Remix. Captain JC Cleare and company made the right move this morning, but luck has not been on their side finding the fish at the same pace as New Jersey.
12:40PM - North Carolina Flare get their second of the day. The local squad representing the Flare this weekend got the action started this morning shortly after lines in.
12:42PM - South Carolina Outcast come up clutch again! The release by Steven Lackey pushes their lead back to 150 points. Championship Saturday is coming down to the wire.
1:08PM - Rob Carmichael from Lights Out New England releases a sailfish after a long fight that ended up bill wrapping the fish. Following the rules, the squad had to touch the fish with the blunt end of a gaff and used a GoPro to record it through the prop wash.
1:15PM - South Florida Sails get on the board today as we fade to black on the SFC+ broadcast. We will crown a tournament champion this afternoon on ESPN+
1:28PM - ANOTHER DOUBLE FOR NEW JERSEY! They pull even on points for the LEAD but South Carolina Outcast have the advantage by getting to 1,200 points first
1:38PM - East Coast Remix with a double! Those two releases bring Remix even with Lights Out New England for fourth. An aggressive backdown by Captain JC Cleare floods the “Main Stage” cockpit.
1:44PM - South Carolina Outcast with separation! There are two fights right now for sole possession of first and fourth place that will come right down to the wire. Steven Lackey has three of the four releases today for his squad.
2:16PM - We’ve got a fight for the lead that’s coming down to the wire! New Jersey Sea Birds and South Carolina Outcast record releases at the same time. South Carolina Outcast maintains their lead but the Sea Birds are keeping pace. For reference, these two clubs are in totally different locations within the boundary with no visual confirmation.
2:25PM - Steven Lackey releases another sail! Keeping distance from second place New Jersey. The Sea Birds will need a multiple hookup and conversion to take the lead.
2:35PM - Steven Lackey goes back-to-back with another release! Quick work backing down and securing the leader touch as the fish jumped.
2:52PM - New Jersey Sea Birds fight back! Jarrett Birch with the release to keep the ‘Birds in striking distance.
3:16PM - South Florida Sails release another sailfish to keep a solid hold on third place.
4:00PM - Lines Out! Congratulations to South Carolina Outcast Angling Club, the first winners of SFC's 2025 season.
