The SFC sat down with Rene Cross of Cypress Cove Marina in Venice, LA, who shared the 5 things you need to know about Cypress Cove!

1. Hurricanes don’t slow Cypress Cove down! Each time enables improvement and new developments for the marina and surrounding areas and the fishing remains good! “Always have to come back with a better way to skin a cat”. “We knew that if we ever got in the spot again where we had to gut some of the rooms that we would upgrade to more suites and give our guests the best experience possible.”

2. “The Gulf of Mexico is Hot year round”. All-season fishing, lodging, and eating available, and there is no such thing as a bad time to get out on the water if you are looking for massive catches! “During COVID, Hurricane restoration, everything, the Marina was open. Cypress Cove does not shut down”. 

3. Full offshore experience, “We’ve got World Class fishing for anything from bass to blue marlin, and some of the best waterfowl hunting in the country!”

4. Catch to Cook! Guests are able to take their catches to the Cypress Cove Marina Restaurant and eat it that day! “A lot of out-of-towners see the price of shipping their catches back and end up leaving it, so we made it possible to have the chef cook it up right here in the restaurant. We will give them three or four varieties for however they want it cooked! And anything thing else they can donate back to the surrounding communities”

5. Coastal Family, the neighboring marinas are bonded by the same obstacles and help each other through it. “Some of them are my best friends, if they're running out of something, we get it to them and vice versa. We are up against the same animal. We work with all the agencies to make sure everyone is built back better.”
