2025 Miami Media Days Recap
Here's everything that went down at the Miami International Boat Show
The first media days of SFC’s angling club era have come to a close, and the team has terabytes of creative assets to bring the new season to life. In the meantime, let’s recap everything that went down over the course of the week at the Miami International Boat Show:
Angling Clubs Debut
Representatives from 10 SFC angling clubs were in attendance at media days, navigating between three different rooms: a still photography room for official headshots and team photos, a video room that will showcase many of the yet-to-be announced details of the clubs, and an interview room where captains, owners and GMs were put on the hot seat.
Miami marked the first time the angling clubs saw all of their logos and branding in one place. The club delegations received personalized welcome kits with samples of their new uniforms and footwear, which will be the topics of their own profiles soon.
First Public Look Live At The Park
Showgoers got to meet several of the angling clubs during SFC’s annual Live At The Park sessions. Session one featured SFC CEO and Commissioner Mark Neifeld joined by Chairman of the Board of Presidents and Mississippi Blues GM Preston Lyon.
The second session covered everything about SFC’s The Catch, Powered by Verizon, featuring NFL running back Raheem Mostert and 2022 SFC Fan Voted Angler of the Year Jaselyn Berthelot. Both guests won The Catch last year along with Alvin Kamara. Gauntlets were thrown down by both anglers, with Berthelot challenging defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons to who can reel in a sailfish faster, and Mostert questioning Michael Pittman Jr. 's claim of being “the best fisherman in the NFL.”
Closing out the program were the defending champions, Team Lifeline, now known as Gulf Coast Cowboys Angling Club. The crowd learned of Cowboys VP and angler Lori McDowell’s new book of fishing stories set for release in March, along with Owner Dino McDowell’s trademark noisemaking. Captain Blake Bridges outlined the Cowboys’ outlook for 2025 and praised the lineup of captains representing SFC’s Gulf division angling clubs.
Several other angling clubs joined, but if you weren’t there to see, you’ll have to wait for when we officially unveil them.
The Beach Cowboy Gets The Last Word
The week went out with a bang as we were joined by Gulf Coast Cowboys' new co-owner: Grammy-nominated country music star Brian Kelley. To close out our interview schedule, we learned some new details about Kelley’s schedule, including how often "The Beach Cowboy" will join his fellow Gulf Coast Cowboys over the season, along with his plans for SFC’s The Catch Powered by Verizon, April 11-13.
