What To Expect From 2025 SFC Media Days
SFC Media Days take place February 13-15 at the Miami International Boat Show
One of the most exciting times of any sports season is media day: teams reveal their first look of the new year, new faces get introduced to the fans, hopes are high among the entire field. It’s no different for SFC, who are hosting its media days Feb. 13-16 at the Miami International Boat Show. With a new “closed” competition format featuring 16 professional angling clubs, competing weekly in world-class fisheries from April through October, there’s more excitement than ever before.
Here’s what to expect from SFC’s media days:
Meet The Teams
The off-season has been full of headlines about the all-star cast of team owners (world No. 1 Golfer and Olympic Gold Medalist Scottie Scheffler, NFL legend Randy Moss, New Orleans Saints 5X Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara, Inaugural LIV Golf Singles Champion Talor Gooch, Charlotte Hornets power forward Grant Williams, Grammy-nominated country star Brian Kelley, etc.) but media day will show the Angling Clubs beginning to take shape. Their brands, the captains leading each boat, the personalities of the organizations come under the spotlight for the first time. Headshots, introductory interviews and a few laughs are all on the schedule.
Behind The Scenes: Angling Club Brand Reveals
Some of the clubs’ names have already been announced, like East Coast Remix AC and Mississippi Blues AC, but every team’s logo and branding will be getting the full photo and video shoot treatment for their big reveals after media days. The logos represent the clubs’ unique personalities and pay homage to their home waters. We will take a more detailed look at the Angling Clubs in the coming weeks.
Networking With the Industry
SFC holds media days at the Miami International Boat Show because it’s the epicenter of the boating and recreational sportfishing industry for that week in February. One of the three largest boat shows in the U.S., Miami gives SFC the opportunity to network with its partners and corporate champions like The Coast Guard Foundation, The Billfish Conservation Project, OneWater Yacht Group, Denison Yachting and RBFF.
For similar reasons, the annual SFC Postseason Awards Ceremony is held during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The show takes place the week after the Zane Grey Championship Playoffs in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Connecting With the Fans
Prospective boat buyers, longtime boat owners, seasoned fishermen and women, and families all flock to South Florida to see what’s new and catch up with their favorite creators over the course of the show. We're taking media days outside to greet them with SFC Live at The Park on Friday, February 14, from 1:00-4:00pm ET.
The team will be sharing all the details surrounding the new season, with SFC’s ‘The Catch, Powered by Verizon’ coming in April, hear from Commissioner and CEO Mark Neifeld, Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl running back Raheem Mostert, Mark Farag of the ‘Science of Fishing’ podcast, two-time SFC division champion and 2022 SFC fan voted angler of the year Jaselyn Berthelot and more.
