Lance Gerlach

Chief Revenue Officer

Lance Gerlach joined the Sport Fishing Championship executive team in the Fall of 2021 as the Chief Revenue Officer, with the primary responsibilities of helping to build out the sales team, managing all corporate partnerships, building out all new revenue verticals that include licensing, merchandising, and NFT's. Gerlach transitioned into the role of President in November 2022.

Gerlach is an avid outdoorsman that enjoys playing golf, hiking, and fishing with his son, who is an avid bass fisherman and competes in the Junior Bassmasters circuit, having qualified for nationals on three occasions.  Growing up in a small town farming community, he spent a lot of time lake fishing, goose and pheasant hunting in his early years.  He has now taken that passion to the ocean and got hooked on saltwater angling catching his first blue marlin in Cabo San Lucas on a family trip in 2020

Gerlach's professional career has largely been in the world of collegiate athletics around revenue generation, both corporately and privately.  He had two stops as the General Manager for Learfield, managing the multi-media rights business and corporate partnerships program, at both Fresno State and the University of Colorado.  After 15 years working on the external revenue side of the collegiate business, he transitioned to the internal side as the Chief Revenue Officer for the University of Colorado Athletic Department having responsibility for selling premium area naming rights, venue naming rights, and building out new revenue streams centered around non-athletic events.  His most recent position before joining the SFC was the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Assistant Vice Chancellor for the University of Colorado Athletic Department overseeing the private and philanthropic fundraising unit, Buff Club.
