Sources: Mississippi Blues AC Signing New Roster Soon
The deal is expected to be signed at some point this week, with both parties reportedly agreeing to terms.
SFC Insider is learning that Mississippi Blues Angling Club has come to terms with a new operating team for the 2026 season. Speaking with Blues AC president and GM Preston Lyon, the deal is expected to be signed within the week.
Mississippi Blues won the first Gulf division event of 2025, The East Pass Challenge, presented by Legendary Marine. Operated by Rising Sons this past year, the two parties mutually parted ways, with Louisiana Canyons officially picking up Rising Sons last week.
The new Blues squad is rumored to be a major player in the Gulf, with the captain being a figure that has been known to place on the In The Bite Captain of The Year standings. What we do know is that the captain and boat have experience fishing in SFC tournaments before, potentially in both the league’s open era of competition (2022-2024) and closed format in 2025 for a different angling club.
Several angling clubs employed other boats and in some cases, other operators during tournament stops in order to overcome mechanical problems and other predetermined scheduling conflicts. For 2026, the competition committee added emphasis with a rule mandating that a minimum of three (3) members of each angling club must be present for every single event, which includes the designated captain.
