Sources: New Jersey Sea Birds AC Close to Multi-Year Deal with Taylor Jean Sportfishing

Captain Blaine Birch earned SFC first team All-Pro honors and was named to the all-star team for the Atlantic Division.

Per SFC Insider Rudy Tomarchio, New Jersey Sea Birds AC and Taylor Jean Sportfishing are nearing terms on a multi-year deal which will see the Atlantic Division runners-up return to SFC competition. The Sea Birds finished third at the Zane Grey Championship Playoffs in Cabo San Lucas. Winners of the prestigious Walker’s Cay Open, the Sea Birds also finished second four times and never finished lower than fourth place in any SFC tournament last season. 

Captain Blaine Birch earned SFC first team All-Pro honors and was named to the all-star team for the Atlantic Division. He was also a finalist for Captain of The Year at SFC AWARDS. 

Outside of SFC competition, Taylor Jean were also winners of the White Marlin Open release division, where Birch was named WMO Captain of the Year. 

Taylor Jean is a 62’ Viking owned by Ken Hager, with a roster that includes 2025 Mate of the Year Jarrett Birch (Blaine’s brother) and anglers Stephen Birch (Blaine & Jarrett’s cousin) Dave McKendrick, Stephen Melchiorre, Randy Karl, Jay Brower and Kade Roach.
