Verizon Named Presenting Sponsor of SFC’s The Catch, Headlines Unprecedented Roster of 2024 Partners

Sport Fishing Championship and Verizon announced today a signature partnership that integrates the wireless telecommunications provider across SFC’s biggest annual event.

(Dallas, TX, April 15, 2024) – Sport Fishing Championship (SFC) and Verizon announced today a signature partnership that integrates the wireless telecommunications provider across SFC’s biggest annual event. Verizon’s exclusive 5G technology will power the second edition of SFC’s The Catch, Powered by Verizon, by driving connectivity between competitors and viewers, while also optimizing the SFC fan experience on-site.

“We’re thrilled to leverage Verizon’s state of the art technology to enhance the experience for SFC fans and competitors,” said Mark Neifeld, CEO and Commissioner of Sport Fishing Championship. “Streaming live from the ocean demands the best connectivity, making Verizon an ideal partner.”

The Catch, Powered by Verizon, is a made-for-TV competition pairing SFC angling stars with the NFL’s biggest names and takes place April 18-20 at Pier Sixty-Six, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Viewers can tune in to the broadcast on the CBS Sports Network, Saturday, April 20, from 3-5 p.m. ET. The weekend’s activities also include The Catch Pro-Am tournament and The Catch Kickoff Concert featuring Loud Luxury, Big Boi and Klingande. The events support the United States Coast Guard Foundation.

“It’s our privilege to work with Sport Fishing Championship to bring our innovative technology and 5G Network to power The Catch broadcast live from the ocean,” said Nick Kelly, Vice President of Sponsorships & Partnerships at Verizon. “Three key components made this partnership a perfect fit for Verizon – the innovative broadcast technology, a platform to reach the huge and desirable audience of fishing fans, and one-of-a-kind hospitality.”

Joining Verizon as new event partners are fellow NFL sponsor Crown Royal, plus Continental Tire, OluKai, Twisted Tea, Harvey Gulf, Visit Lauderdale, INEOS Grenadier, Castaway Coffee, and OceanFoam. Returning partners include Fathom, OneWater Marine and Salt Life.

“These brands are among the largest and most sophisticated marketers in all of sports,” Neifeld said. “Their investment in SFC demonstrates the tremendous attractiveness of our offshore fishing audience and the value of our multimedia platform as we launch the third season of our professional fishing league.”

The Verizon partnership was facilitated by Connect Partnership Group, SFC’s partnership sales agency of record.
