The tournament is set up completely differently than the SFC season opener in Louisiana. Boats will not have to make long runs as they did in the Gulf of Mexico (200 miles plus) to get to the fishing grounds. In Cabeza de Toros much of the fishing will happen within sight of the beautiful beaches and shoreline that the Punta Cana area is known for. White marlin will be the predominant species, which means big numbers of fish and great opportunities to rack up points towards the SFC Billfish championship.

The action kicks off at 7 am local time (8 am ET) on May 5th with boats departing from the tournament headquarters in Cabeza de Toro as well as Cap Cana marina just a few minutes away. Boats will be returning to the docks each day at 5 pm local with results being settled on the final day of competition Saturday, May 7th.
